The Slimline pen or pencil is typically the first writing instrument that most people attempt to make. It's fairly easy to make and it fits comfortably in most hands. Normally the Slimline is turned with a straight barrel that is flush with the center band. For this pen I'm going to leave the barrel a bit thicker than normal. This adds character to the pen as well as a little extra heft making it more comfortable.
