Back
in early 2004 I bought a Jet Mini-Lathe almost on a whim
just because I got an incredible deal on it. In the back
of my mind I thought that it would be a way for me to get
my wife to spend some time in the shop with me. Well she
still doesn't spend any time in the shop but I've picked
up one of the most addictive hobbies around: making pens.
I love the fact that I can head down to the shop and in
about an hour I can come back upstairs with a finished
project. I did, however, discover the one law that almost
all pen turners are bound to discover sooner or later:
you can only use so many pens. Eventually you either have
to give them away or sell them. On this page you'll find
photos of several of the pens I've made as well as an image
gallery with descriptions of how a basic Slimline pen is
made. Once again, if you have any questions please feel
free to drop me a line. Maybe I can help you avoid some
of the costly mistakes I've made or just inspire
you to try your hand at pen turning.

possible combinations of pen style and material are almost
infinite. Below are just a few examples of my work.
